Hello!
I am an Assistant Professor in the Division of Communication & Media at Ewha Womans University, also a Civic Science Fellow at the Morgridge Institute for Research, and a Research Affiliate at the Department of Life Sciences Communication, University of Wisconsin-Madison. I received my Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the Department of Communication and Media.
My research broadly focuses on environmental communication, science communication, and environmental psychology. I mainly study how individuals make sense of climate change information in the media, and the psychological processes through which climate change communication can increase civic engagement related to climate change. As a Civic Science Fellow, I have been focusing on understanding evidence-based approaches to communicating science in a way that meaningfully connects the public across different ideological or value-based fault lines, and developing real-world strategies that can increase public engagement with science.
When I'm not researching or teaching, I enjoy rock climbing, running, reading Korean novels, and volunteering for animals at the local animal shelter.
